Bob Lorenz, the YES Network’s primary studio anchor, is the host of the New York Yankees and New Jersey Nets pre and postgame shows, as well as various other YES Network programs. Lorenz’s play-by-play credits on YES have also included New York Yankees baseball, Ivy League Football and the Staten Island Yankees.

Prior to joining the YES Network in 2003, Lorenz served as an anchor for CNN/Sports Illustrated, which he joined in April 1991. He hosted CNN?s signature weekly sports programming, including NFL Preview, College Football Preview, This Week in the NBA, SI Cover to Cover and Page One. He also hosted CNN’s weekly baseball show from 1992 to 1996, and from 1994 to 1996, hosted CNN’s College Basketball Preview and College Coaches Corner. In addition to those duties, Lorenz also worked on a variety of programs for CNN’s sister networks TBS and TNT, hosting Super Bowl specials and serving as back-up host on Inside the NBA on TNT.

Before joining CNN, Lorenz was a reporter and anchor at WPTV-TV in West Palm Beach, Fla. Joining WPTV-TV in 1988, he wrote, produced and anchored four weekend sportscasts. Lorenz earlier served as sports director at KIEM-TV in Eureka, Calif., was a writer at CBS Extravision in Los Angeles and an analyst/anchor for Citicable in Torrance, Calif.

Lorenz emceed the Make-A-Wish Ball in 2007 for the Connecticut chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

He holds a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
